Adolphus Hotel, Dallas, TX
Marriott recently chose to add The Adolphus to their new Autograph Collection of properties, and IDC Construction is proud to have been the Owner’s chosen partner in the renovations. Sweeping phased improvements continue at this historic landmark, bringing way an eclectic revival to an essential part of the Dallas community. IDC has completed renovations throughout most of the property, including the addition of a roof-top pool and remodeling of the elegant and renowned French Room Restaurant, pictured below.
IDC began with mezzanine level updates, including the Grand Ballroom and Prefunction areas, refreshing these busy event spaces while maintaining the elegance for which the Adolphus is known. Preserving the history of the property by reinstalling prominent elements and refurbishing historic characteristics was a key concern during renovations.
Also reimagined is the hotel’s upscale Bistro Restaurant, refreshed and renamed City Hall Bistro. New white subway tile finishes all the walls, leaving a sleek space to entertain while a completely remodeled, open kitchen gives the space a light and modern feel.
Guest Tower renovations, including over 400 guestrooms and guest bathrooms and all corridors, brought new life to the rooms of the Adolphus. Simple and elegant finishes now replace the outdated look while maintaining the sophistication for which it’s known. New guest bathrooms include rebuilt shower and tub areas with new finishes and fixtures creating a spa-like feel for guests. Extensive work to aging systems, both plumbing and mechanical, were essential to improving the guest experience.
The refreshed Social Lobby Areas are the most recently completed phase of the renovations, and this unique space celebrates the history, architecture, and European roots of The Adolphus. IDC added two gas fireplaces in the Atrium, complete with imported French limestone mantles and new millwork to match the existing walls. Original marble floors were restored and paired with new wood floors, glass walls and updated finishes, creating an elegant and relaxing space.
The distinguished French Room Salon and French Room Bar, an illustrious Dallas landmark, still house the original grand piano, surrounded by updates to millwork, lighting, finishes and floors. Preserving the character and historic elements while updating finishes created a refined space to display unique pieces sourced from artists in the Dallas area.
The Guest Registration and Lobby Bar areas were updated with new marble walls and an intricate mosaic tile floor. Guests are welcomed to an updated but recognizable space, as the original room keys from the 1920’s still hang on the wall. Comfortable gathering areas and warm finishes throughout the public spaces invite guests to this unique and convivial Dallas landmark.
